Spring is here! With that so many things "Spring" to mind like warmer weather, longer days, so long to winter, and hello to FLOWERS! Here at Dan's Brandywine Floral design we are always creating to symbolize just about anything. Fun flower fact: Traditions of giving floral arrangements and bouquets to convey our emotions goes back to the middle ages. It is believed that the tradition of giving a meaning to each type of flower was started in Europe and still exists today. Florists are here to help guide you in what to give to convey your message through the flowers. Below are some spring blooms and their meanings;

Irises: symbolize faith, hope, wisdom, courage, and admiration.

Easter Lily and Lily of the Valley: represents love and hope, traditionally given on Easter with meaning of celebration of rebirth. Fun flower fact: was not until flower shops in Philadelphia sold them did they begin being called Easter Lilies

Daisies: innocence, purity and new beginnings. Often given to new mother's to congratulate them.

Tulips: generally mean perfect love other colors have other meanings too. White means forgiveness, red means true love, and purple symbolizes royalty

Baby's Breath- symbolizes everlasting love, pureness, and innocence
